August 1st, my cardiologist said, “It’s time to get back to living.” The best words of the year! It was at this visit that my doctor talked to me about cardiac rehab. He prescribed 35 sessions so I set myself a goal to finish rehab before Thanksgiving. This would be one more thing I could add to my list of things to be thankful for in 2022.
Anyone want to guess the first thing Greg and I did after hearing the words get back to living? If you know us, it’s an easy guess. We went to the golf course and played 9 holes of golf. It was amazing how much better I felt than the last time we played. My energy was better and I could breathe! Knowing it was important to pace myself is the only reason I stopped at 9 holes that day.
We had tried to play golf the week before and the day before my HA. Both times, I had to stop after 5 holes. During one of those rounds, I bent down to pick up my ball and everything went black. Not like a sheet of blackness. It started on my right side and went around my body. I’ve never experienced anything like that. The other time, I simply did not have the energy to continue playing.
Finishing 9 holes of golf that day was the first moment that made me feel that my health was going to be back to normal again.
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song wilI praise Him”
