Doctor visits and waiting rooms became very familiar to me after my HA. It always interested me what people were doing during their waiting times. Doctor’s offices are no longer filled with magazines. Everyone finds their own entertainment, most with their head down looking at their phone. One day a lady sitting across from me was crocheting. My aunt tried to teach me to crochet but ended up telling me I had 10 left thumbs. Did I mention, she did not have much patience?! Being the curious type, I asked the lady what she was making. She reached into her bag, gave me a small packet that included this little crocheted heart and attached card. She told me, “It’s for you. Keep it.” The attached card read: This little heart was made with love. Hold it close and know that no matter what you are going through, you are loved!
I came across a statement years ago that said, “If you treat everyone you come in contact with during the day as if they are hurting you will get it right 85% of the time.” Wow! Just wow! People carry heavy burdens both physical and emotional. It does everyone good when we show a little kindness. It sure meant a lot to me that day in the waiting room.
“Love each other as I have loved you.”
