Yes, I do have bad days. Overall, I’m a positive person. I always try my best to look outside my own problems, and seeing others in worse conditions makes me grateful.
The last few days, I’ve been mad. Not only have I been mad, I have felt the need to cry. I have missed my mother. She died in 1997, and it’s been a long time since I’ve missed her as much as I have the past week. It’s been almost two weeks since we’ve had a sunny day, and it’s July. I’m angry I have Parkinson’s and my hand and arm tremors have been worse the last couple of days, for no reason at all. The list goes on. You name it, it’s on my last nerve. The weird thing is this, nothing is really wrong. I’ve just not been happy.
How do I get out of this funk? I read my Bible. I prayed. I exercised. And, when I was in the shower this morning, I cried. Wow, a good cry in the shower is like cleansing the inside while you cleanse the outside!
When your day is going well, it’s easy to praise God and be positive. God did not design us to handle everything on our own. He designed us to work in partnership with Him and to rely on Him for strength and wisdom. Some days we just need to say to God, “I can’t handle this on my own, here you take care of it for me.”
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
